OKC Yard Dawgz Lose to Wranglers

Monday, April 28, 2008

OKLAHOMA CITY- The Yard Dawgz hosted the Austin Wranglers on Sunday, April 27th, in front of 6,450 fans and were defeated 27-57.
The Wranglers received the ball and took advantage of the first session of the game when they scored on a 4 yard pass from QB Andy Hall to WR Mel Long. The Dawgz offense answered back and evened the score on a 29 yd pass from QB Evan Gray to WR Al Hunt. Each team scored once more to finish the quarter and due to a missed extra point by the Wranglers, the Dawgz took an early 14-13 lead.
Oklahoma City struggled to get their offense in sync and were held scoreless the second quarter. Austin took advantage of several Yard Dawgz miscues and scored three times, bringing the score at halftime to 14-33, Austin.
The Wranglers continued to dominate in the second half. The Dawgz only score in the third quarter came from a 5 yard run by QB Gray. Wranglers QB, Hall, completed two passes to WR John Roberson for touchdowns and kicker Keita Iizuka’s field goal brought the score at the end of the third quarter to 20-50, Austin.
In the fourth quarter, Austin held the Dawgz to only 7 points and scored once, bringing the final to 27-57. Offensive Player of the Game, Andy Hall, went 32-22-1 for 309 yards and 6 TDs. Austin also won the other Player of the Week awards; Ricky Williams (JLS Ironman), Sean Henley (Cutters Catch of the Game); and Demetrie McCray (ADT Defensive Player of the Game).
The Dawgz travel to Amarillo on Saturday, May 3rd to take on the Dusters; kick-off is set for 7 p.m. The game can be heard by tuning into JOX 930 AM or www.jox930.com. Each 2008 Yard Dawgz game can also be viewed online at www.nifty-tv.com.

Oklahoma City Memorial 5K Walk - 2008

Sunday, April 27, 2008

Here we are again on our second 5K OKC Memorial Walk. Amber mentioned training to actually run the 5K next year...hummm... must be the "walker's high" affecting her judgement! She did very good, walking ahead of Irene & I and finishing about 5 minutes before us. Our official time will be 1 hour, 23 minutes and "some" seconds. Here are a few shots, despite the rain and cold.

OKC Skyline

Saturday, April 26, 2008

I spent a few hours last night working on recapturing the OKC Skyline for the Southside Chamber of Commerce Annual Auction. This time I tried a 8 image panorama that may take a few days to complete. My photo buds, Jon & Brian, showed up for support and take advantage of location. I really enjoyed the conversation, but next time we need coffee and snacks!

Cami at Cafe Nova

Monday, April 21, 2008

Sunday afternoon, Cami and I had an opportunity to get together and shoot some images for her upcoming album artwork. We shot the entire time inside and around Cafe Nova in the Western Ave. District.
This place is very cool and hip. And I heard it's turns into night club after you have enjoyed wonderful dining experience.
Here are a few of my favorite images from the over 300 we shot. It includes the all Jeep photo! Cami, Brian and I drive Jeeps... of course, mine is the old one in the middle. And the infamous styrofoam cup of water. I guess you had to be there. ha,ha,ha.. I would also like to thank Brian Davis for being a great VAL (voice activated lightstand).

This was a fun shoot! Aubrey is a my daughter's friend from church. She is sooooo cute in her little red prom dress that I was had to get a few shots of it. We did a few jump images for fun, trying to get a good facial expression was very hard.. but very funny as well. Everyone in the studio was cracking up! Here are a few from the session... Jumping for Joy!

Twins Invitation

Here is the final insert for the graduation invitation for Rhaven & Ronna. Already at my new lab being process and expected here by Wednesday. I even ordered a few extra for myself to show off to new clients. I'm so pumped about shooting a full session with each of the twins in May. I "heard" that Ronna really loves Coca-Cola... so pass along all great places to shoot with that theme. I know there are some murals around here for a background. Check back for updates!

Quick Head Shot

Friday, April 18, 2008

I had almost forgotten about this image. It was one of the first taken with the new Nikon D300. It was a quick head shot for a young lady for a commercial talent call. I didn't have lots of time and used the filtered sunlight from a nearby window and a silver reflector fill. I was very excited to see this image on the screen and we had her several 8x10s within the hour. Sometimes it's the simple things that work the best.

A fun little video show from some of the images from the shoot with Rhaven and Rona on Sunday at the Myriad Gardens.
We plan to shoot each of the twins in May in several outfits for their senior cover session. It's going to be fun!

Rhaven & Rona

Sunday, April 13, 2008

Today was windy and a bit chilly... but we pushed through and got some great shots for the twins' graduation invitation. We plan to do a full senior shoot in May with better weather. It was so much fun to work with these girls! Even my assistant, Wendy, commented on how fun and high energy it was, despite the gusting winds. Here are a few favorites, straight from the new Nikon D300!

OKC Yard Dawgz Win First Game!

Sunday, April 06, 2008

For their first game of the 2008 season, the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz hosted the Arkansas Twisters on Compassionate Care Hospice Field at Ford Center. Yard Dawgz Head Coach Gary Reasons returned to the team after a three year hiatus and had a successful homecoming as the Dawgz beat the Twisters, 57-42.

During the first half of the game, I was shooting from above in the catwalk area when my Nikon D200 stopped working. Luckily, I had a backup camera body from Baker Photo & Video. After I brief talk to the CFO of the company (my wife, Irene), I ordered a new Nikon D300 and sent the D200 in for repair. It's nice to know that I will now have a backup camera for on-location shoots. I really can't complain, my D200 has in working like a charm for over 2 years with over 70,000 shots.

Here are two shots from the game.... More available on the OKC Yard Dawgz website.

Radio Poppers

Tuesday, April 01, 2008

I finally got my pre-order request for the ultimate wireless controller... the RadioPopper!
This new system will improve over current units in the reliable use of the i-TTL flash control of the wireless speedlight. I can't wait to get these in so I can play in the streets... literally! I have a few shots lined up in the downtown area and it will be great to control my wireless units from the back of the camera.
Check back often for updates!
