Winter Storm

Wednesday, November 29, 2006

The weather is turning fast for a cold and bitter winter storm. Everyone is predicting lots of ice and bad road conditions in the morning. I have not seen a really bad ice storm in a few years, so am I wrong (or bad) for wishing for a "White Christmas". I'm looking forward to some "cold" photo ops. Let's see if I get any good winter shots this go around. Happy Shooting!

The website is still an ongoing project, but getting better each day. I signed up today with Constant Contact to manage my email list for updates and specials. It's a great way to get automatic news from me. Stop by the website and signup on the start page or talk page.

Meet with other photographers tonight and had a great time! It was overwhelming knowing the abilities and experience combined in the room. I wanted to thank everyone for your support on the website. Who said photographers can't have fun?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thursday, November 23, 2006

I do have lots to be thankful for this year. Of course, the list is way too long to spell out here, but I wanted to highlight the top of the list.
- Jesus Love me... despite my actions and imperfections.
- My Family Loves me... although I'm not perfect.
- My Wife Loves me... She sees the man I can be
- My Friends Love me... well, not sure why.
- A roof is over my head, with hot and cold air.
- I have clothes to wear, that color match (sometimes..)
- I am not hungry. In fact, I eat too much and need to lose weight!
- I have a passion in life. Photography.
And the list goes on.....

I wish everyone a wonderful and inspiring Happy Thanksgiving!
And hope each morning, you take 5 minutes to have a thanksgiving moment.

Little Break

Sunday, November 19, 2006

I decided a little break was in order, even though the website is far from done. Being a Bond buff, there was only one choice at the theater! Great film, but not quite warming up to the new James...yet. He's contracted for three movies.

Changes...

Friday, November 10, 2006

Still working on the website. I having a few more problems than expected. Of course, all my friends tell me to just get a professional web designer to do the work right. And I know this... hire a professional to do a professional job. Seems simple, but very true. Along these lines, my business model has changed for the future. I am not a "shoot to burn" photographer. I will document a life event and have the client select images to be printed at Pictage, a professional lab in California. I truly want your life's moments to shine for many years to come in your mind, heart and your print.
A friend of mine recently stated that "if you brought me the most expensive and best professional powertools, I still could not build my dream house." Without training, expensive professional equipment is just expensive paperweights. Hire a pro and save your time for someone you care about.
As for the website... I really want to do it myself to expand my skills, so please be patient with me.
Thanks for stopping by.....

Still Working...

Wednesday, November 08, 2006

... on the website. Currently trying to fix the contact php mail form, which seems to be a problem with my web host, possibly not supporting specific commands from my RapidWeaver program. Of course, I can still be contacted via direct email. Click on my profile. Thanks for stopping by... Happy Shooting!

New Website

Tuesday, November 07, 2006

The website is still a work in progress. I got a lot done on the backend that's not visible on the page, while fighting some kind of throat infection yesterday. I'm feeling much better today and looking forward to getting some more done on the site. Check back often!

Election Day

Today is the mid term elections and a wonderful opportinity for the american public to voice an opinion. Imagine my surprise as I arrived to the polling station with few cars in the parking lot and no waiting lines to vote. While my blog is not political in nature, I would like to urge everyone to get out, get involved and vote. Your voice can make a difference!

Under Construction!

Monday, November 06, 2006

After I good night's rest and awoke ready to tackle the website today. Unsure of how far I would get today, I decided to leave the current website in place while working on the new one offline. Well, that didn't work out that as planned! While uploading pages to see how they looked online, I accidentally selected the main directory and overwrote the old site. So I quickly made a one page construction site while I'm building. I hear that this is a big no no, but it may take a few days to get the finished product up and running. In the meantime, I'm still available for shooting and my December is filling up very fast with holiday portraits and parties. Stay Tuned!

A New Start

Sunday, November 05, 2006

It's time to start a new website. I need a website that can be easily updated and better describe my photographic vision. The pic here is of the old site, which is still up while I build the new one on my PowerBook. Look for a "new look" very soon!
